Early spring is the perfect time for getting your car prepped for road trips, more frequent driving, and even those summer vacations that are only a few months away. After a long, cold winter, it’s essential to get your car checked to make sure it’s ready for the season.

I’ve partnered Firestone Complete Auto Care Center and had one of their knowledgeable technicians share some tips on getting your car for spring. Now I can share them with you! The following spring car maintenance tips will help you get your vehicle in tip-top shape in no time.

Check your tires.

Potholes, salt and other debris are tough on your tires. If tires are worn, change them. Check the tire pressure and rotate, as needed. Proper tire maintenance can extend the life of the tire.

Check your battery.

Running the heater in the cold can take a toll on your battery, so it's essential to get it checked to ensure it’s in proper working condition.

Replace worn wiper blades.

The wiper blades work overtime in the winter, so check them out and replace if worn.

Inspect your AC.

You want to be ready for summer’s heat, so get it checked now to fix any potential issues. You may also need to replace the air filter – this will help with allergies, too.

Check belts and hoses.

If these are worn or cracked they can break. Replacing them can prevent an expensive repair later.

Get rid of trash.

Empty your trunk, back seats and glove compartment of all garbage, clothes, water bottles and other random items. Getting rid of excess weight in the car can even help save you money at the gas pump!

Do a good clean of your interior.

Thoroughly clean your car's interior and apply a protective product to help minimize sun damage.

Hit the car wash.

Winter conditions can lead to rust if left dirty too long. So either take it to your neighborhood car wash or roll up your sleeves and do it yourself.

While you may be able to check off some of these tasks on your own, it’s critical to use a professional when dealing with more advanced issues. Firestone Complete Auto Care offers expert automotive maintenance services that are thorough and convenient. Entrusting a professional will ensure everything is done correctly and safely.

Schedule an appointment at your local Firestone Complete Auto Care to have the adequate Spring car maintenance done by one of their professional technicians.
